Home carbonation machine

Bwahahaha.  While registering at Macy's yesterday, I found my carbonation machine.

We also got 25 of those little we're registered at Macy's papers, the rest will come in 2-3 weeks, which means that the first 25 invitations will be sent out to people who live furthest away.  The rest will follow.

Peacock hair clip

Thoughts?
Too small? Not enough peacock feathers? Not enough color? Head band instead of a clip?

Hurricane lanterns

So I was composing the last update on my phone bc I was sending the picture I took of the hurricane lanterns. But then I forgot to add the attachment. So here it is. It's 10 inches tall, and the candle in it it's 2.5 inches in diameter by 3 inches tall.  Michelle suggested a slightly wider candle (3 inches) to sit more securely at the bottom.

I'm thinking to tie a gold ribbon maybe with a peacock feather eye and have a teal candle if the overlay on the table it's purple on an ivory tablecloth or even if it is an ivory overlay on a purple tablecloth. Sprinkled around the lantern would be various for flowers the florist has left from what she cut for the bouquets (her way of using all the flowers and not wasting any)

Tennessee Gardens Round Two

Made our second deposit to Tennessee Gardens.

While we were there we also samples more cake and talked a little about what we'd want. We saw some example cakes in the bakery. Eddie liked the square cakes set at different angles on top of each other (I think this is called "off set"); l don't really have a preference about the shape, just about the design and taste ;)  With square cakes for 250 people, we would need four layers. Eddie definitely wants carrot cake as one layer, and we both also like the strawberry Victorian cake. So I get to choose the other two layers. I'm thinking a chocolate layer, well two actually. One is a chocolate cake with three creams: mocha, toffee, and chocolate. I had it for the for first time yesterday and it was SO delicious! The other might be another chocolate, I'm not really sure yet.

Apparently they won't cut what is on the top layer and will instead give it to us to take home.  So in addition to the flavors we also have to figure out which flavor goes on which level. I'm not sure how popular carrot cake is so I was thinking it would go on the second layer (if the first isn't cut and is going home with us), then the strawberry Victorian on the third layer, then the chocolate three cream on the bottom. Except then there would be more chocolate slices of cake than any other, and personally I think the strawberry Victorian is the best.

Another thing about having different layers is that I think they serve the cakes as they're cut, which means that you might get served carrot cake while that table further down gets the delicious chocolate three cream! So something else that I have to ask about is the possibility of cutting the three layers and letting people get their own cakes. But that may be a problem logistically, as 250 slices of cake probably takes up a lot of space. So I guess we'll see.

Am I picking too much at the details?

To Friar Tux We Go...

After Six
Pearl Grey Savoy
$149
for Eddie

After Six
Grey Catalina
$129
for the groomsmen
Eddie and I detoured to the mall post-GSOE reception, but pre-dinner, our destination: Friar Tux. Here are the tuxes that caught his eye... PS the purple and teal are not to be worn together, we were merely trying to see if the purple and teal would clash horribly if the bridesmaids were in one color and the groomsmen in another.

I ready liked the teal for the groomsmen. My concern was that they would clash with the purple bridesmaids. I think it will be ok if I can add teal to the bridesmaids via a sash or wrap and purple to the groomsmen via people flower in the boutinnere.

Something cool was at Friar Tux they had a swatches book from David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo's to match with their swatches. If I absolutely cannot find the fabric in the right teal, I could get something from either David'sBridal or Alfred Angelo.

Graphic Genius

I'm super excited about the invitations!!  Uncle Mike has been working on some designs and sent the rough drafts for us to look over yesterday.  They look FABULOUS!!  I just hope the rest of the invitation lives up to his designs!!  Tossing around the idea of a real peacock feather on the invitation...not sure how it would look with the decorative lettering in the front, but getting ideas from Uncle Mike and Pris ee ee.  I almost don't even want to post the drafts because I want everyone to be blown away when they see it all put together :)
Wow! My family is so super awesome!

Let Us Eat Cake

We have a meeting at Michelle's bakery on Friday when we bring the second deposit for the venue... So wanted to get some more definite ideas for the cake...

Just thought this was a cute cake topper :)

Like the concentration of swirls vs. the swirls over all

Like the use of ribbon, and the details on the curls

Like the ribbon and the placement of the swirls...though maybe a little too concentrated on the top... and maybe too symmetrical with the points coming down?

Like the alternate layers of swirls...Not the initials though

Adding feathers to the bouquets...

Hadn't really found any bouquets with peacock feathers that I liked... Becks posted a link to the site with these pix...  Am tempted to incorporate if possible...

Beautiful Images Production

Have an appointment on March 7 to meet with Alex de Guzman from Beautiful Images Production for the wedding video.  He'll be shooting with one camera with wireless mics during the ceremony.  We'll get 4 dvds.

Marriage license and Church stuff

Called to schedule our appointment to apply for a marriage license.  It's at 9 AM on March 21st (what would we do without spring break?!).

Got some paperwork from Veronica for our interview with Father Joven.  He wasn't in today, so she couldn't see if he was free on Thursday.  There are four affidavits for marriage that I think our parents have to fill out?  I guess we'll find out from Veronica.

I also need to figure out who is reading the reading(s) at Mass, what songs to sing, etc.

Gift Registries

Eddie and I went over to Target to register with the intent of getting the little papers to include in the invitations.  Alas, after a good hour of shooting the laser gun at various household items, we were informed that the company that produced the little papers has gone out of business.  So now we're hoping that Macy's still has the little papers and we can write "Also registered at Target" on the backs.  :)
