- Cookie favors
- Tree with pictures of family, esp. weddings of parents/grandparents
- Slide show with pictures - which Jessica has so kindly offered to do :)
- Family style serving of food? - instead of a buffet (250 people going through a buffet may take a looooong time) or American service style (plates prepared in the kitchen brought out by waiters), platters of food brought out and put on the tables. Problems: not much space on tables for other decorations/centerpieces
- Orchids in the flowers kind of add a touch of Singapore?
- Tea ceremony
How about something to do with the table toppers (those numbered placards that label each table)? Pictures?
Some sort of quotes on the invites/programs? Should we even do programs? Not very green.
I like the family style serving of food, like Chinese wedding dinners. With 250 people, that might be the best way to go. You should ask if they can accommodate this at whatever places you go visit. But yeah, once you do that, you want the lazy suzy type of thing and no decorations on the tables, which might not be such a bad thing coz you save on 25 table centerpieces. If you do this, then it kind of sets up the seating arrangement. There are so many options with that!
ReplyDeleteThe tea ceremony is a wonderful chinese tradition and is nice to include, which means you will need the traditional "kwa". Are there any Hispanic wedding traditions that you should also consider including?
What's a kwa? And where would I go about getting one of those?
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll ask him mum about any Hispanic wedding traditions. Eddie's against traditions that he doesn't know the meaning of: the lasso, coins, sand, etc. Unless it has some sort of significance to him, he doesn't see the point in having it... Maybe the Unity Candle?
